Questions Answered
What is the title and basic plot of the time-based work?
Title: TBD
Plot: The music creates movement and morphing of the ball into characters that move with the song. Once the music stops the characters are on the side of a building and fall to their doom returning into balls once they hit the ground.
Who/what are the protagonist and antagonist?
Protagonist: The ball/characters that come from the ball
Antagonist: The music, it leads to the life of the ball and eventual death.
What is the climax of the time-based work?
When the music finally builds up so much that it stops and the characters fall to the ground.
How is composition used to re-enforce the narrative?
The composition pushes the story by showing the music build by the characters coming to life. With different views the plot builds as the characters want to climb the building.
How are camera angles used to evoke empathy?
The camera angles show how high the characters are climbing and how far they have to fall when the music ends their lives.
What points-of-view are used to tell the narrative and why?
We use second position to illustrate the morph that the ball experiences.
Third position is used to illustrate the that their goal is to climb the building and the heights they are climbing to reach their goal.
How does the project clips editing contrast rhythm/speed ?
The song directs the speed and contrast, it makes the characters very fast moving but it makes the fall sequence slower and more dramatic.
What are motion and animation highlights in your work?
The main motion is the morph which then leads to a walk sequence.
What do you want the viewer to think and feel after they finish viewing the project?
That the creatures were created and destroyed by the same thing and will continue the cycle if another song comes along. Its a circle of life animation.
